Subject: Implementation of the recommendations of the Fifth Punjab Pay Commission--Revision of Pension of pre 01-01-2006 pensioners/family pensioners/recipient of extra ordinary pension etc.

I am directed to invite a reference to. Government of Punjab, Department of Finance letter No. 3/23/09-3FPPC/885,dated 17.8.2009 and No. 3/39/09-3FPPC/201 dated, 22.2.2010 on the subject cited above and to state that scales of Pay of Government College teachers do not find mention in the schedule of Punjab Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2009. The Governor of Punjab is pleased to decide further that the benefit of revised pension/ family pension envisaged in para 4.2 of the aforesaid letter will be available for fixation of pensioner/family pensioner of teachers and equivalent cadres in Government colleges in the State. A table of revised pension/family pension based on the Revised Scale of Pay + Academic Grade Pay effective from 1.1.2006 corresponding to the pre-revised pay scale as contained in the Notification issued vide letter No.10/3/2009-Edu.I/3321 dated 2.9.2009 by the Department of Higher Education is enclosed herewith as Annexure B to facilitate the payment of revised pension/family pension.
2. The other conditions mentioned in the letter mentioned under reference shall remain the same.                                                                                                                   
3. Punjabi version of these orders will follow in due course.

 Note: The pension shown in column 6 is for maximum qualifying service of   33 years. In cases of pensioners, where qualifying service is less than 33 years, the pension shown shall be reduced pro-rata.

D. A. to rise by 6% to 51% with effect from 01.01.2011

The much awaited figure has been released by the Government of India today. In a press release it was stated that the All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of December, 2010 increased by 3 points and stood at 185 (one hundred and eighty five).


The Central Government employees will get 6% D.A. with effect from 01.01.2011 and it will be 51% of the Total Pay.
It may be noted that Government of India are yet to declare the enhancement of Dearness Allowance and you will get to know as soon as the official announcement is made.
